A Piece of Denmark in California: Interior Designer's Home in the USA
Creating the interior of her own home, interior designer Birgitta Pierce faced a challenge: it turned out that her most demanding client was herself. A century-old house in colonial style required serious renovation, and when you're designing something for yourself, there's no outside opinion or comments like: "Here I'd like to see something different, and here add another detail." However, no matter how strict Birgitta was with herself, she and her husband managed to create a truly beautiful interior where the rigor of Scandinavian style (Birgitta was born in Denmark) and the vibrancy and lightness of California style (the designer grew up in California) merged. We particularly loved the blue paneling in the living room and the design of two bathrooms – it looks incredibly fresh and remarkably stylish!
