Kiyakabin Hotel on Lombok Island
Since the 1980s, Bali and Lombok islands have been chosen by the Indonesian government as tourist destinations due to their deeply rooted culture and captivating tropical landscapes, beaches, and mountains. The Kiyakabin Hotel was designed on Lombok Island by the architectural studio Atelier Riri in collaboration with a local craftsman and represents a vibrant example of the culture of the Sasak ethnic group.
The Kiyakabin Hotel project combines features of traditional life and modern architecture with principles of high energy efficiency. The buildings are constructed using local materials, including teak wood that is resistant to natural elements, and incorporating local construction techniques.
