Private House with View of the River Thames Valley
Architects Spratley & Partners designed a private house in a traditional rural style in Berkshire, England. Wood and brick cladding and the sloped zinc roof of the residence Field House echo the appearance of nearby agricultural buildings. At the same time, the cantilevered upper floor and one fully glazed façade make the building unique. In this way, the architects were able to increase the volume of the house while minimizing its visual impact on the natural environment.
The first floor of the house includes a two-level living room, dining room, kitchen, relaxation room, small hallway, and two bathrooms. Panoramic glazing in the living area provides views of the River Thames valley beyond the garden. The upper floors house three bedrooms and three bathrooms, while a home cinema is even provided on the ground floor.
