House with Swing in London
Private residence Kenwood Lee, designed by Cousins & Cousins studio, is located in London, United Kingdom. It was developed for the builder who also served as the main contractor on the project. The residence features a range of materials and textures, including brick, concrete, oak, marble, and metal. Key elements in the interior include suspended swings and a spiral staircase.
The four-story building is organized around a three-story concrete core. The living area is separated from the kitchen and dining room with a marble fireplace. The oak-staircase spiral staircase leads to the basement, where a cinema, swimming pool, guest room, and gym are designed with natural daylight. Two symmetrical bedrooms surround the central bathroom. The upper level accommodates the main bedroom, large wardrobe, and bathroom. Three dormer windows in the metal roof draw light to the top floor and serve as another reference to the formal language of neighboring houses.
