Though this house is located near the Whistler ski resort in Canada, it hardly resembles a mountain lodge. It features a modern interior with large windows and a contemporary color palette. In any country house, the living room with a fireplace is always the central space — here it's a zone with sofas, an armchair, and a substantial black fireplace portal. Dark accents in the overall design have helped to set focal points and highlight key elements. Agree, when using a light palette, we rarely think to include black in the color scheme, so it's worth noting.
