Bright Design Hotel on the Site of a Two-Hundred-Year-Old Winery in Portugal16 photos
When French winemaker Philippe Ostrouy purchased the Quinta da Corte vineyard in Portugal in 2012, the 200-year-old manor house was in a deplorable condition. However, with the help of renowned designer Pierre Yovanovich, the building was not only saved but transformed into a stylish hotel. The hotel features just seven rooms, which perfectly align with the concept of this place: enjoying wines and local landscapes in tranquility. Modern architecture and furniture blend beautifully with traditional Portuguese elements such as tiles, patterns, and handcrafted ceramics. Interestingly, the designer himself created the furniture designs, while craftsmen from France and Portugal brought them to life. This place is an excellent choice for discovering Portuguese port wine and the region's aesthetic.
