Impressive Minimalist Design and Energy-Efficient Concept: Modern House in the Forest
The owners of this modern forest house in California, a family of eco-enthusiasts, approached Faulkner Architects with a request to create an energy-efficient design that would be a continuation of the surrounding nature and a harmonious addition to it. The house facade is made of weathering steel, which is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, requires virtually no maintenance, and blends beautifully with the color of the soil and autumn leaves. Wood, concrete, and glass are the main materials used for interior finishing. Despite its ecological nature, the house also impresses in terms of design: a luxurious open space with high ceilings, elegant minimalist furniture, and a grand piano that will leave no one indifferent to lovers of refined minimalist lines and forms.
