Modern Fireplace and High Walls: Industrial Style House One Hour from Manhattan
Sometimes you just want to escape the hustle and spend a quiet evening by the fireplace. For residents of New York City, this dream is especially common. This country house is located only one hour away from bustling Manhattan. This fact particularly pleases its owners, as they don't need to plan a separate weekend getaway to enjoy nature. The building has an interesting history: it was built in the 1890s and functioned as a cast-iron foundry for nearly 50 years. In the 1940s, it was converted into a residential building, and in the 21st century, the current owners took on the renovation. They tried to preserve the historical design as much as possible but enlarged the windows so more light could enter the rooms. Natural materials and natural tones were maximally used in the interior, while minimalism in finishes was supported with interesting modern furniture. It's a perfect place to escape for the weekend!
