House on a Farm Property in Australia

Architects Anthony Hunt Design and Luke Stanley Architects designed a house with a total area of just 28 square meters. Located on a hill near the town of Gunnedah, Australia, the Kimo Hut resembles a small rural hut and serves as the latest addition to the Kimo Estate project — a second-generation farm created to host wedding ceremonies and rent accommodation, showcasing the natural beauty of the area. This is a place where you can disconnect and forget about modern life distractions.

The form of the house was inspired by a classic hut with a gabled roof that simultaneously provides protection from the environment and maintains a connection to it. The prominent construction made of solid wood species secures the building, defining interior spaces and framing surrounding agricultural land. Wooden elements throughout the house include handcrafted details and reflect the character of agricultural buildings.
