Villa for Summer Retreat in Sweden
Project bureau Sweco Architects presented a summer house in Falkenberg, Sweden. The residence, covering 184 square meters, celebrates the sun. From breakfast on the eastern terrace, through a family dinner in the yard, to relaxation on the scenic terrace with sunset views — all daily activities follow the sun.
The summer house for retreat is composed of three distinct volumes — the main building, youth block, and guest house. The glass entrance hall connects the first two parts of the residence. The main area features a living room, kitchen, and parents' master bedroom. Outdoor showers adjacent to the bathroom enhance the feeling of summer. All rooms are in contact with both the terrace and the outdoors.
Special attention was given to selecting eco-friendly materials that age beautifully, such as cedar wood on the façade and zinc sheets on the roof, as well as concrete floors and white-painted wooden panels on interior walls. Large windows and sliding glass doors in all rooms provide direct contact with the terrace and scenic countryside.
