Hut in the Mountains of Norway for Tourist Recreation
The studio SPINN Arkitekter designed two small houses for recreation at the request of the Norwegian Tracking Association (DNT) in the city of Hammerfest. The structure, covering 15 square meters, is a simple hut with heating designed to promote hiking tourism in the mountains. The huts blend with the terrain, feature quality wooden finishing, a wood-burning stove, simple benches, and a panoramic view of the surroundings through a large window.
Local businesses voluntarily provided materials and services to implement the project. The huts were assembled and tested under controlled warehouse conditions, then partially disassembled for transportation and reassembled on-site by groups of enthusiastic volunteers. The only professional work performed was a two-layer bitumen waterproofing of the shell and foundation pouring on site.
