Rural House in Norway

Studio Hoem + Folstad Arkitekter presented the Villa Tjelta project, located 15 km south of Stavanger, Norway. This private residence, spanning 250 square meters, is situated on a farm field in an agricultural area where fields around houses serve as inexpensive pastures. The house is built on a grassy slope, and its surroundings are bordered by a continuous stone wall.

The exterior facade of the house is clad in corten steel plates, and the roofs are planted with grass. The residence resembles an old rusted iron plow abandoned in the middle of a field. Inside, all walls and ceilings are covered with ash wood veneer, and doors were crafted on-site by carpenters. The flooring features pine wood and granite tiles.
