Townhouse in Amsterdam
Architectural bureau GG-loop designed a 257 square meter Freebooter townhouse in Amsterdam, Netherlands. By studying the movement of sunlight throughout the year, a distinctive building form with shutters was created that allows natural light to enter while protecting residents' privacy. Floor plans and thoughtfully organized spatial flows are arranged according to daily usage of the spaces and residents' requirements for functionality in an ideal home for living and relaxation. The townhouse is extravagant, non-aggressive, ghostly, and futuristic at once, not conflicting with local culture and customs but harmoniously complementing the street's character.
