Our Project: Wooden House in the Forest Inspired by Scandinavian Cottages (Kyiv)

The portfolio of our design studio PH Studio is gradually being filled with new and interesting projects. A few months ago we told you about the wonderful House with Labradors, and today we are happy to share another interior design project we have completed. This is a cute and cozy wooden cottage made of logs, located in the forest near a small lake close to Kyiv. The owners read our blog almost since its creation, so when they found out that we now work on interior design, they approached us with a request to update the interiors of their country house. The family decided to move here for the whole summer (or even longer), so they needed a more comfortable and, most importantly, aesthetic living space. The Scandinavian touches in the interior design are clearly visible — the design of the internal rooms was inspired by beloved Scandinavian wooden cottages, which we often talk about on our website. The clients did not want to do a large-scale renovation and had time constraints, so we decided not to touch the floors, walls, and ceiling. Instead, we completely changed all the doors in the house, painting them in a beautiful graphite tone — this helped to calm down and soften numerous wooden surfaces. All door and window openings were also decorated in this tone. The kitchen and all the rest of the built-in furniture were made according to our sketches.
