House on the Bay Shore in Australia

The studio Dock4 Architects designed the Apollo Bay residence in Australia. A private house with an area of 125 square meters is built surrounded by vegetation on the bay shore. It is created for a peaceful life by the sea and demonstrates a smooth transition from indoor to outdoor space.

Wooden cedar cladding combined with an asymmetric steel structure allowed transforming the old hut into a modern and cozy retreat filled with sunlight. The interior material palette is chosen clean and light.

The living area is centered around a suspended fireplace, the chimney of which passes through the main bedroom upstairs. The kitchen, dining area, and guest bedroom are designed next to the living room. Terraces expand the space of the first floor's day zone. Two additional bedrooms are planned on the second level.
