House in the Pavilion Regional Park in Vilnius
Studio DO Architects presented a private house project in Vilnius, Lithuania. The 150 square meter residence is built in the Pavilion Regional Park, where the beautiful nature helps to immerse oneself in a world of richness beyond materiality, offering residents purity, comfort, and real enjoyment of quality of life. In such a house, the client's family enjoys every day, watching trains pass by and deer peeking into the garden to eat apples. They walk on freshly mown grass in summer and play snowball fights in winter, creating fantastic memories for the rest of their lives.
The glass wall connects the common space with an apple orchard that attracts wandering deer, while the natural environment of the regional park creates a dynamic backdrop for life inside the house. The contrast between interior and exterior spaces is blurred, and the feeling of changing seasons is felt both inside and outside.
Two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a relaxation room are located along the other half of the building, offering secluded zones for family members without complete disconnection from the rest of the house. Facing east, the dormer windows fill both bedrooms and the day zone with morning light.
This house project proves that good architecture does not have to be excessive. There are no expensive materials or items here, just beautiful nature and a sense of belonging to the surroundings.
