Private House in Melbourne20 photos
DKO Architecture bureau worked together with SLAB studio on the private house project in Melbourne, Australia. Located in the Collingwood area, the residence is a tall rectangle with a base of 4x9 meters, and the area around the house is 72 square meters.
Architects designed a light well stretching through all six floors from the roof garden to the basement. This solution allows daylight to fill the entire residence, while simultaneously providing cross-ventilation and visual lightness to the structure. Attention was also paid to transforming interior spaces, favoring foldable and hidden furniture elements. Mirrors, glass partitions, glass floors, and internal windows help blur the boundaries between functional zones and enhance the perception of the interior space. Wooden furnishings feature refined simplicity, allowing homeowners to fill the space with everyday items without visual clutter.
