Country House on the Slopes of the Appalachians
Project bureau Hoedemaker Pfeiffer received an order to create a country house for relaxation, similar to the previous house of the owner, lost during a fire decades ago on these picturesque slopes of the Appalachians in the USA.
Architects were tasked not to recreate the old structure, but to give it a new form with an area of 415 square meters. Inspired by the remote location, a main and guest house with a view of Puget Sound were created, stylistically united. Stone foundations and walls hide the bright wooden structure, a slanted roof protects from summer sun and provides space for solar panels, while glass walls let in winter sunlight.
