Country House in Austria
Most owners use their homes for relaxation only a few weeks per year, leaving them empty the rest of the time. This residence in Chentgl, Austria, designed by the studio Innauer-Matt Architekten, has become a full-time second home for its owners. Located just 30 minutes from their apartment in the historic town of Feldkirch in western Austria, it allows them to live in two worlds simultaneously, alternating the bustle of noisy streets with the silence and solitude of the mountains.
The compact volume,嵌入山坡, features a covered entrance, and a corridor runs through the entire first floor, including the kitchen. On the south side is a dining room with a large table and an angular bench that extends along the walls up to the fireplace and also serves as a bookshelf. A panoramic window offers impressive views of the mountains.
The staircase leads to the attic floor, designed for leisure and includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, a small corridor with a workspace, and an additional room with a small library. The layout varies throughout the space, with rooms differing in ceiling height and size, but each one benefits from natural light to create a particularly cozy and intimate atmosphere enhanced by the use of simple yet atmospheric materials.
