Extension to a Victorian Villa in Sydney
Extension to a Victorian Villa in Sydney
Architects from Smart Design Studio have given new life to a Victorian villa in Sydney, Australia. The Orama residence was extended according to the client's needs. Architects preserved the beautiful elements of the historical house and designed this part as a bedroom, bathrooms, lounge, and office. The new extension has a simple form and design. Here is the living area with a six-meter window and textured raw concrete that flows from the walls into the garden, perfectly blending with the pool, lawn, and gravel. On the second floor of the new section of the house is a guest bedroom with an elegant bathroom.
The extension was designed to be just as intricate and detail-focused as the original villa. The material palette includes concrete, glass, dark steel, and zinc, perfectly complementing the black-and-white color scheme applied to the historical home. As a result, the two parts of the residence span nearly a century apart but together form a harmonious and cozy home.
