Private house Old Sag Harbour Road is located in Southampton, New York, USA. Clients wanted their house to be situated in an untouched natural environment and serve as a secret retreat for family and friends. One owner frequently travels and wanted a place to relax and recharge, while the other is an architect who participated in the project development together with Blaze Makoid Architecture (BMA).

At the beginning of the design process, architects placed the internal staircase as a central sculptural element that connects all three levels. Another bright accent in the interior was a black steel-clad fireplace that separates the living, dining, and kitchen areas.

The extensive wine collection of the clients did not go unnoticed — architects provided a climate-controlled wine cellar with black steel supports and custom-made walnut shelves.
