Minimalist House in Italy
Minimalist House in Italy
The Casa MF residence is located on a hillside with a view of Trento in Italy, between an urban area, a green agricultural zone, and a forest. The abstract volume of the building fits into its surrounding context through its simplicity and formal rigor. Designed by architects from studio raro, the residence covers 300 square meters and is divided into two zones. The first one is nestled in a secluded garden at the upper part of the plot, while the second one hovers above a more open green area at the bottom. From the road, monumental concrete forms are revealed, which interact with surrounding trees planted at different levels along the road, between walls, and in the garden.
The interaction between the daylight space and the garden emphasizes the constant dialogue with nature, creating a series of sequences, perspectives, and lighting conditions. The first floor houses service areas with direct access to the garden and pool. The pool, in the form of a linear element, is positioned perpendicular to the building and partially covered by it, directing the gaze toward the open view of the valley.
Structurally, the building consists of a main wall that runs through both floors and supports the roof beams, and a floating wing. The use of concrete and artificial stone underlines the weight of the suspended structure. Glass and greenery stand out against their background, setting up a series of pleasant contrasts between the created elements and nature.
