Elegant Modern Interior of a 150-Year-Old House in Australia
In 2019, this house in Melbourne, Australia, celebrated its 150th anniversary. Built in 1869 by architect John Clarke as a private residence, the interior today looks noble and quite modern after a century and a half. The designer who recently renovated it focused on white color and minimalist furniture, yet everything had to blend with antique pieces. In the entrance hall, guests are greeted by two wooden dressers and an opulent chandelier. The living room is decorated with a fireplace and a mirror in a gilded frame. On the kitchen, beside modern kitchen cabinets, there are old wooden tables and chairs. The past and present can definitely be harmoniously combined beautifully, and this interior perfectly demonstrates that!
