House Under Chestnut Trees in Italy
House Under Chestnut Trees in Italy
The building, designed by Gosplan Studio, is located in the countryside near Genoa, Italy.
Large furniture elements include a staircase leading to the attic and suspended kitchen cabinets attached to a short transom beam. A longer transom provides space for a large cabinet and shelves. The bedroom doors are integrated into a large blue cabinet, freeing up the former storage room. This allowed for the installation of a new bathroom in the previous location.
At the end of the hallway, behind a sliding mirror, is the door to the utility bedroom.
Living space can be accessed through a spacious living room with an open-plan kitchen. Opposite the entrance is a short hallway leading to other rooms.
The design solution is based on several types of materials and colors. The flooring in the living room and main bedroom is made from gray wooden planks, while a gray shade of micro-cement is used for the floor in the kitchen and other rooms.
Furniture is custom-made from painted medium-density fiberboard based on mountain oak wood.
