Old House Made of Modern Concrete in Bulgaria
The old house received a new destiny from the studio I/O architects in the city of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.
The new structure made of strong white concrete complements the design and function of the old building, offering unique artistic features that embody the essence of this project. The minimalist white concrete is beautifully enhanced by a black spiral metal staircase. Its impressive lines form the spine of the living space, uniquely harmonizing the dynamism of novelty with the elegance of bygone times.
Exceptional stone masonry is strikingly expressive around the fireplace. The color palette is dominated by combinations of gray and violet tones. Black glass fittings decorate the bathroom.
It is hard to find a more precise balance in the renovation of historical buildings, but sometimes juxtaposing modern dynamism and simplicity with the wave-like complexity of old forms creates a new harmonious vision.
