Vipp — Hotel with Unconventional Concept in Scandinavia
Vipp — Hotel with Unconventional Concept in Scandinavia
The company Vipp, known for the design of household items, has expanded its activities into the hospitality industry: now it offers guests the opportunity to stay in a prefabricated micro-house in the Swedish forest or in a loft located above its headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Vipp describes the hotel as a "hotel with an unconventional concept", because when booking a room in it, you rent the entire location at once. Instead of offering clients multiple rooms in one place, Vipp offers one room in different locations.
Currently, there are two such accommodation points — a micro-house with an area of 55 square meters on the shore of Lake Immerdal in Sweden and a loft with an area of 400 square meters in the Danish capital. If spending the night in the compact Vipp cottage costs 1,000 €, then renting the Vipp Loft will cost 1,500 € per night.
To design the interior of the loft, the company invited the studio David Thulstrup. Architects managed to create a multifunctional and cohesive living environment under the oak beams of the attic of an old factory that is now occupied by Vipp. Thanks to exclusive furniture and a variety of artistic works, the space evokes the feeling of a mini-museum of contemporary art and design.
