Mount Sterndale in the Main Role of the Updated Valentinerhof Hotel

The Valentinerhof Hotel, presented by studio noa*, is located in the commune of Castelrotto near the famous Alpe di Siusi region in Italy, at an altitude of approximately 1200 meters above sea level.

The new main building with the reception desk, bar, lobby, and seven rooms resembles typical local farmhouses with its wooden facade. Irregular gaps in the horizontal wooden panels allow natural daylight to freely enter the rooms. The panoramic glazing of the lobby and guest rooms highlights the dialogue between the structure and the landscape.

The new building in the southwest corner, featuring nine new suites, is integrated into the surrounding topography. Its wooden elements emphasize its connection to the regional architectural tradition.

The new lobby welcomes guests with cozy soft furnishings, large custom-designed cone lamps, pompous curtains, and a living room with an academic study atmosphere. The staircase leading to six new rooms and a new suite on the upper floors not only serves its functional purpose but also carries aesthetic weight as a unique sculptural object. The relaxed lines of the furnishings, decor, and lighting create a fairy-tale reality enhanced by the view of the surrounding mountains. Guests can feel as if they are on the stage of a silent theater, where Mount Sterndale plays the leading role, silently awaiting dialogue.

The new apartments feature almost square layouts. The bed is positioned in each room so guests can enjoy mountain views in the mornings. Elements made of black steel, repeated in various versions, form towel racks.

The highlight of the hotel's main building is a two-story suite with a jacuzzi on the terrace offering a unique view of the mountain grandeur.
