Glass Pool in Villa in Portugal
The villa Wall House, presented by Guedes Cruz Arquitectos, is located to the west of Lisbon, Portugal. Here, on the Portuguese Riviera, among sandy dunes and pines within the Sintra-Cascais National Park, the building appears as a natural extension of the landscape.
The most striking feature of the house are two outdoor pools stacked one above the other in the inner courtyard. The one built on the ground level is perpendicular to the other, with a glass bottom, where swimming becomes a fantastic floating in the air.
The inner courtyard, paying homage to Mediterranean traditional architecture, protects the dwelling from strong Atlantic winds.
Like a concrete, glass and wood castle, the villa represents an outstanding achievement of modern luxurious architecture, balancing between air, water and surrounding vegetation.
