Cottages 72h, designed by the Swedish studio JeanArch, are tiny buildings with a total area of only 5 square meters. The architects aimed to create shelters that allow people staying in them to come into close contact with nature in the most comfortable way.
Similar to a camping tent, such a cabin can be set up in any scenic location so that inhabitants can spend the whole day outdoors, retreating inside only at night to sleep or admire the sky through a transparent ceiling. Unlike a tent, they don't have to crawl inside and seal themselves off from nature with a zipper—they simply climb onto a comfortable bed and start counting stars.
The project name Cottages 72h — Cottages 72 Hours — refers to the amount of time five participants spent in them during a stress study conducted by the Karolinska Institute. It should be noted that all participants significantly reduced their stress levels.
