Family House with Garden in Ramat Ha-Sharon, Israel19 photos
The house presented by DZL Architects is located in a quiet residential area of Ramat Ha-Sharon, northeast of Tel Aviv, Israel. The main task for the designers was to plan a residence for a young family with four children. The client requested a compact building to leave more space for a garden where children could play. The plot has an elongated shape and significant topographical differences between the front and back yards. Thus, there was a challenge to meet all necessary conditions while maintaining compactness. The solution was to divide the building into blocks separated by an internal courtyard capable of letting light into the rooms and breaking the monotonous facade unity.
The children's playroom includes an additional patio with space for applied and artistic creativity and natural lighting. The guests have access to an outdoor dining area and kitchen. A terrace with a view of the house and garden is located on the elevation.
The material palette unifies all rooms and consists of white plaster, concrete, black aluminum, oak, and natural stone. The choice of white reflects the local climate, which provides about 300 sunny days a year. Therefore, the material is selected to blend easily with its surroundings and avoid excessive heat and light. External blinds and large openings on the north side allow enjoying the view without squinting from bright sunlight.
