Guest House in Farm Barn Style in USA28 photos
Drawn to the project, Carney Logan Burke Architects aimed to infuse the traditional barn design with an element of unexpected surprise. This was achieved through a large, glazed wall on the second floor that offers a panoramic view of the Teton Range and Jackson Hole resort. While giving the building a modern look, this feature also recalls the wide open entrance of a traditional hay barn.
The structure pays homage to 19th-century work barns: the exterior and interior walls are constructed from real reclaimed barn wood, the small square windows on the first floor mimic those of a traditional barn, and the sloped ceiling does not hide the structural elements of the roof.
In addition to guest accommodation for numerous visitors, the new house, which spans 224 square meters, includes a fitness room for the owner and a spacious garage.
