House with Brick Construction in Belgium24 photos
The challenge faced by DMOA architects studio while working on this house project in the small town of Bierbeek, Belgium, was the proximity of a transport company, which somewhat spoiled the beautiful view from the plot.
The elongated two-story building consists of two volumes of different sizes.
On the upper floor are children's rooms; this area features a shift that allows for a large window, from which children can admire the beautiful view directly from their beds. Additionally, it adds dynamism to the architectural appearance of the building.
The rear part of the volume is cut at an angle and fully glazed. This allows the living room to have the best possible overview.
Simplicity of forms and minimalism of the house are enlivened by colorful brickwork, which gives the wall texture expressiveness and uniqueness.
The interior continues the idea of clean forms and textures. Unfinished concrete walls that harmonize with plywood panels, white poured floor, and white ceiling form the basis of the material palette.
The peaceful and clean atmosphere of the house helps focus on the tranquility of rural life. Vast gently sloping fields, solitary trees to gaze at for many hours. A wonderful place to come to after a long and stressful day.
