House on the Coast in Finland17 photos
Architectural bureau Mer Arkkitehdit designed a private house in the city of Hanko in southern Finland. This picturesque town was popular among Russian tourists in the late 19th century, who were drawn by winding beaches, pine forests, and wooden seaside villas. The Stormvillan residence is located right in such a historical part of the settlement.
The lower level of the residence is built into rocky terrain, which is visible through the glass wall of the corridor leading to the staircase on the second floor. The wine cellar is also planned on the ground level. Since the house belongs to an elderly married couple, it was additionally equipped with a lift.
