Cozy Cottage on the Italian Riviera16 photos
The architects of the Monaco-based firm Humbert & Poyet took over a small abandoned cottage in a stunning location on the Mediterranean coast between Bordighera and San Remo, Italy, and renovated it with great care and understanding. Without a roof or bathroom, measuring no more than 48 square meters, the structure was deteriorating and left to the elements until Emil Humbert and Christophe Poye took charge.
To the right of the entrance is a staircase leading to the second floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The staircase itself is designed to maximize space efficiency: each step functions as a box. Similarly, the wardrobe is hidden under the bed. Elegant bedrooms are filled with luxurious details — antique items, elegant candlesticks, and maritime-themed objects.
Blinding white color and copper are the themes of the bathroom. On the meticulously designed terrace of just 3 square meters, a piano, a relaxation area, and a hammock are placed. For those who find this insufficient, the roof offers suspended lounge chairs.
