House-Three Leaf in Vermont
House-Three Leaf in Vermont

House in the shape of a three-leaf clover designed by Boston-based J.Roc Design studio in Vermont, USA. The residence is located near the town of Stowe. Built into a slope, the upper floor of the building is elevated, providing a panoramic view over hills surrounding the valley.
The ground floor features a southern wing housing a garage. A playroom is located in the north-western part, while the remaining wing accommodates two bedrooms and a sauna.
The upper floor includes a kitchen and dining room in the southern wing. A door in the corner of the room opens to a terrace that wraps around the living area from the north-west side and ends in the master bedroom, located in the north-eastern wing. Floor-to-ceiling glazing surrounding the upper level floods living spaces with natural light.
One of the house's distinctive features is its lack of sharp protrusions, which allows for easy accommodation of the client’s elderly parents and aligns with the philosophy of 'aging at home'. To ensure wheelchair accessibility, architects designed the house without thresholds, window sills, and shower trays. All movement paths within the three-leaf structure are accessible, wide, and well-planned.
