House Reconstruction in Texas18 photos
The firm Pollen Architecture & Design carried out the reconstruction of a 1957 house in the state of Texas, USA. The 250 square meter building was renovated while preserving the key features of the original construction. Old limestone walls remained in their original location, but the windows were enlarged. A small addition to the main building was added in the backyard, made of pine.
For architects, an important task was to design a space that seamlessly combines interior and exterior. To solve this, special attention was paid to installing sliding doors and large panoramic windows. Easy-to-open slider systems promote natural ventilation and free movement from the room to the street. Abundant glazing brings sunlight into the rooms and allows enjoyment of the surrounding landscape.
