Villa for Young Family in Israel
This villa, built in the Irus settlement, Israel, was designed by Shachar Rozenfeld Architects studio and covers an area of 340 square meters on a plot of 500 square meters.
As a result, Irus has become a colorful place covered with villas designed in various styles by different architects.
The clients of this villa, a young family with four small children and a dog, wanted the house to reflect their love for modern architecture with its clean lines and simplicity, creating a sense of spaciousness despite the small size of the plot.
The form of the house is formed from two rectangular masses stacked on top of each other. The outdoor facade is closed and enclosed, while the building features large windows and sliding glass doors facing the inner courtyard, offering views of the surrounding limestone hills.
During the design process, architects and clients compared several options for finishing materials and colors and settled on a combination of white plaster, black window frames, and light touches of natural wood that add warmth to the interior.
In line with modern architecture's preference for clean surfaces and to minimize potential clutter, the living room is equipped with white cabinets stretching 12 meters along the entire room, and even the entrance door is clad in the same material inside to blend with the rest of the wall. The inspiration for such a solution, which appears throughout the house, comes from the game Tetris.
A wooden cantilevered staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms. The roof structure is perforated with numerous holes that flood the house with light and cast elongated shadows on the walls. Large windows from wall to wall in the owners' bedroom open up a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape and the inner courtyard.
