House in Khuzestan16 photos
This 400 square meter house in Khuzestan, Iran, was designed by Blatman Cohen Architecture & Design studio. The building is located close to the Persian Gulf, which influenced its architecture despite the sea view only being visible from the second floor bedrooms. The direct connection between interior and exterior space was part of the client's requirements and was implemented in the project.
The upper floor, which houses the bedrooms, consists of a suspended rectangular box supported on one side by a bare concrete slab and on the other by a wall clad with wooden panels. The use of contrasting materials such as dark stone and natural wood, together with the choice of minimalist forms, creates an expressive yet warm atmosphere.
