House in Rishon Le Zion40 photos
Designed by Shachar Rozenfeld Architects in Rishon Le Zion, Israel, a 600 square meter house was built on a narrow trapezoidal plot adjacent to a small green public park.
The long side of the house contains the living room, dining room, and kitchen, while the shorter wing houses the bedroom. These sections are connected by a double-height space housing the foyer.
Continuous glazing along the interior of the house creates a direct link between the interior and exterior spaces. Additionally, to ensure maximum openness, windows are set back from the columns.
The glass corners in the living room and bedrooms are free of any structural elements, providing unobstructed access to the garden.
To make the appearance of the large building lighter, the house was designed as two separate masses, one above the other, with the second floor shorter than the first. The upper level includes four children's bedrooms. The basement features two additional children's rooms with access to a well-lit inner courtyard and a home cinema.
Architects paid careful attention to thermal comfort and material selection. The northern facade has an open character and is clad in cedar wood, while the street-facing side of the house appears more enclosed and features vertical electric blinds that regulate climate control and can be opened or closed as needed.
