The Collingwood Residence, designed by Frits de Vries Architects + Associates Ltd., is located on private land surrounded by forest, on the western coast of Bowen Island, Canada.

Public functions are concentrated in the open-plan area located in the central building, combining the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The owners' bedroom and guest rooms are located in the side buildings. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in the kitchen and dining area extend the living room space onto a terrace with a panoramic ocean view from there.

Local materials were chosen for construction, typical of homes in this region — cedar cladding for the facades and natural stone for the building foundation. Large cantilever gabled roofs with cedar beams match the form of traditional secluded cabins. Detailed zinc fascias give the rooflines a modern look.
