House in Relief — Manor in Tyumen42 photos
Design bureau YY together with architects A61 designed a private house in Tyumen. The residence «House in Relief» with an area of 544 square meters is located in a picturesque zone. The starting point for the design was the relief — the house was conceived as a dialogue between architecture and landscape. Its main facade conceals the potential and scale of the object because the main part of the manor is underground.
Upon approaching the house, the scale is lost, creating a sense of a small dynamic volume. But upon entering the hall, a real feeling of space emerges — secondary light and numerous openings create a complete impression of the manor's structure. The interior space develops along two elongated volumes, highlighting various functions and levels of privacy.
The roof is made of high-quality material RHEINZINK — a cold metal roof combined with a warm wooden facade complements the image, making it more dynamic. Panoramic mansard windows create maximum lighting and visually divide the long monolithic roof plane, creating compositional stops.
The basis of the house is an unconventional layout structure — the main entrance is through the sleeping floor, and the public function develops downward. However, this feature does not compromise personal space — the wing with children's rooms is separated from the public hall by a private area, creating an atmosphere of privacy.
The same principle applies to the main bedroom and accompanying rooms. The ceiling height varies, enriching the internal space of the house.
