Lake House for a Family from Quebec25 photos
Located in the green expanse of the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, Canada, the Estrade residence of 334 square meters stands out elegantly on the shoreline of the forest lake Caban. After studying the steep and rocky topography of the site, architects from MU Architecture studio decided to emphasize the unique features of this natural corner through a delicate architectural intervention. The main goal was to design a house in full harmony with the surrounding environment.
Attractive due to its solid mass, the Estrade residence unfolds gradually before the viewer's eyes, revealing one volume at a time. A light airy staircase with glass railings instead of balustrades greets visitors at the entrance. Built precisely in line with a large vertical window, it connects all floors of the house through its asymmetric spans. Minimalism and attention to detail bring a sense of purity and comfort into the space, immediately setting the tone for the entire project.
