Rustic House Near Lake Michigan

The house for Beth is a rural residence located in Door County, Wisconsin, USA, near Lake Michigan. This area is known for its picturesque lake shores, forest trails, and agricultural lands. The studio that executed the project, Salmela Architect, took advantage of the natural surroundings of the house and made references to local architectural features of the region.

The building is oriented east-west, with terraces on the north and south sides. The rear addition contains a bathroom and a room for technical equipment.

The interior is based on a combination of white stucco walls and natural pine floors. The fresh kitchen, with white cabinets and black stone countertops, is accentuated by blue tiles in the cooking area. The furnishings consist of simple, modern furniture. Everything, including the red chairs, was taken from IKEA.
