The renovation of a typical mountain house located at the foot of Mont Blanc in Italy was carried out by the architectural studio Fabio Fantolino. The interior was reimagined using clear forms made of wood and black iron elements. The new design recreates a traditional atmosphere without losing the feeling of modernity. Most of the finishing and furniture were made from local fir specially for this project.

The material brings comfort and harmony with the surrounding environment, and also contrasts with the exposed concrete beams left from the old to highlight the difference between old and new. Furniture in the living room, which is connected to the kitchen and dining area, is accompanied by works of art and textiles, creating intimate and comfortable zones. Lighting enhances the cozy atmosphere through a combination of various lamps. The roughness of the wood in the bathroom and kitchen is emphasized by combining gray stone finishes, once again reminding about regional construction specifics.
