Located by the lake surrounded by lush vegetation of wild willows and natural meadows, the house in Switzerland maintains a strong spatial connection with nature. The interior of the 240 sq. meter residence designed by Markus Schietsch Architekten was expanded with a large porch on the first floor and two terraces on the second. Constant contact with the landscape allows the owners to enjoy the changing seasons and birdsong, while feeling protected and secure. To avoid flooding, the building was constructed 80 centimeters above ground level. The living area on the lower level is designed as an open, free-flowing space with access to the garden. Structural elements such as the fireplace and kitchen island divide the area according to different functions. Individual rooms on the upper floor have access to a terrace with a magnificent view.
