The Belgian studio Farris recently transformed an old farm into a modern and cozy home with a very pleasant design in the suburbs of Brussels. It combines classic elements (a piece of furniture made in the old style, calf skin on the floor in the living room, a deer's head on the wall), loft (imitation of an unfinised brick wall, lighting fixtures and a predominance of graphite color), and a favorite design trick that has become modern classic – glass walls and large windows. The fireplace is simply magnificent, located in the center of the living room, it attracts the whole family to itself on one side and, on the other, serves as just an imitation reminding of the wonders of modern design art. Overall, the design is free from over-decoration, leaving plenty of space to move around, lots of air and freedom. A pair of soft sofas reminds about rest when it is needed, and lighting zoning sets accents where they are required. Minimalist and somewhat restrained but very thought out design for comfortable country living.
