On an artificial island, just fifteen minutes from the center of Copenhagen, a couple of Lizbeth and Laut found in 8 months designed and built a house on water with a total area of only 80 sq. m. The cottage is built on two pontoons filled with lightweight polystyrene. For this elderly couple, the biggest challenge was not to build such a house, but to fit into its small dimensions: upon moving in, they brought only the most essential items with them, and most of the furniture was given away to owners of standard apartments. The finishing is more than simple: poured floors, wooden panels, walls and ceiling for painting. Interiors of rooms are also done in minimalism style, which echoes the most modern idea of a house on water. Maritime theme is kept to a minimum, and monochrome sea tones are brightened up by chairs, floors and accessories in vivid colors. An unconventional project for modern people who aren't afraid of difficulties and are looking for new sensations!
