Architecture bureau Rolf Ockert Design recently unveiled to the public the concept of an extraordinary ocean-view residence in Sydney. This villa was built on the site of a small cottage where the owners had lived for many years. The unusual layout and maximally open structure of the house allow natural light to brightly illuminate the rooms throughout the day, while shielding them from neighboring homes. The location of the house with its challenging climate, strong winds, and salty air played a significant role in material selection. As for the interior, it is designed in a modern style, with a color palette inspired by the rich surrounding environment—coastal rocks, sky, and water. And of course, the most important aspect—breathtaking ocean views through fully glass walls. A wonderful place for a tranquil life in a picturesque suburb!
