Historic walls and modern design: loft of a young businessman in Barcelona
A young Spanish businessman saw great potential in a semi-abandoned space on the first floor of a historical building in Barcelona's suburbs and asked the studio Rardo Architects for help with reconstruction. The house is over 150 years old and is under state protection, so the new owner wanted to emphasize this fact in the updated interior. Therefore, designers fully opened the original stone and brick masonry in the rooms, with all irregularities and roughnesses. At the same time, the interior furnishings and decor are quite modern and minimalist — trendy furniture, compact kitchen, metal elements and dark accents. Interestingly, the loft also serves as an office for the owner — he often meets clients and works there. A magnificent industrial apartment!
