Mansard Apartment with Library and Wood Stove Fireplace in Sweden21 photos
Mansard apartments are not always easy to make comfortable for living. It seems like slanted ceilings take up space, and small windows don't let in enough light. But that wasn't the case with this Swedish rooftop apartment. The designer not only managed to brilliantly zone the space and arrange furniture, but also brought the feel of a country house into an urban flat. All thanks to the old beam ceiling refreshed with white paint, a wood stove fireplace, and a home library. The combination of light and dark tones also works beautifully here — such a balance gives the interior its own unique style. Yes, there isn't as much natural light as one might like, but that doesn't stop the apartment from being absolutely cozy!
